This site is dedicated to help those in need of support, advice and comfort for people who are dealing with everyday diabetes issues. The information you find here can help you immensely. General Visitor Disclaimer-
Access to type1parents is limited to unregistered visitors. Unregistered visitors are not required to submit any information to type1parents. However, to enjoy the full benefits of type1parents, Visitors are encouraged to join the membership through our registration process.

Member Privacy/Security Disclaimer-
By registering, visitor is asked to agree to Registration Agreement and also provide the following information:

  • Valid email- A working email address is required so that members could contact one another. Members have the option to select to keep this private. The only other people who have this information is the Administration. At no time will the Administration share or sell this information to a Third Party.
  • Username- This is a series of letters and/or numbers used to identify each member. The Username is chosen by each member to allow access to member area.
  • Password- in addition to username, a member will be required to create a password for above username. This is also generated by each member that verifies the username. This series of letters/numbers can be changed at anytime by member. Administration does not have direct access to password and can only change password. Forgotten passwords can be system generated to be emailed to user or ask a specific question/answer set by member upon registering. Members are asked to keep this information private.
  • As stated, members are asked to agree to Registration Agreement. The Agreement covers the above points and also states the following:

  • You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law.
  • You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.
  • You will be able to fill out a detailed profile. This is not required but is encouraged. We only ask any information that you choose to enter is truthful. Because of the nature of this website, all members must have some connection to the disease known as Diabetes. This connection can be firsthand (having the condition) or secondhand (being the caretaker of a diabetic person or persons). Medical information voluntarily provided by member is only accessible by registered members of website and will never be shared with any Third Party representative.
  • Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
  • Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer. Again, the Administration will not share any member information received with any Third Party.
    The above information is fully disclosed and must be agreed to before any registration information will be collected and approved by Administration.
