  • This obviously isn't dire - but W is itching the heck out of the area surrounding his pod. Itching the pod right off. Recommendations for products? He says everything stings and won't let me touch it.

  • Abby had "itchies" when she started on Dexcom.   We put a Tough Pad (J & Johnson product we found at CVS near the bandaids) down first and then put the Dexcom adhesive on top of the Tough Pad and insert through the Tough Pad.  We have had zero skin issues since we started doing this.

  • When Tyler was itching, I bought this Cortaid Cooling gel stick and he would rub it around the area and he said it felt better. It is kind of spongy on the end. Now we spray the area with Benedryl Spray before insertion and that prevents the itching (well, that and then Cavalon, and SkinTac).

    Good luck!

We are using the Benadryl spray too. I do that, then an All Kare wipe. Things were fine up until a few weeks ago....

  • Cavilon as a barrier has made a big difference in reactions here.  We started with the wipes, but I like the spray better.

  • Thanks for all the tips! I pulled out an old Coloplast sample wipe and that seems to work very well. So far. I'm going to keep all your advice handy for when we have this issue again  :)
