  • In your opinion, why do you think some people are more carb sensitive than others?

  • More efficient digestion?

I don't know.  Tori has always been carb sensitive vs. insulin sensitive.  She was still little when I realized how few carbs she actually needs to treat an everyday type of low.  For her 3g will raise her 10 pts.

  • Probably genetics, which is almost always one of all possible answers to such questions!

We were advised a high-protein diet for this reason, but keeping a kid from high-carb fast foods is very hard, and, frankly, in my opinion, unfair. If other kids can have them, why not T1s. But carb sensitivity is a major problem. Personally, I know some people who eat and eat and eat, and they don't spend their days in the gym, but never add a kilo of weight. I envy them.
