Didn't get her Christmas Wish

  • My child has managed type 1 for 3.5 years.  This year for Christmas my 8 year old asked for a cure.  It was the only thing on her list.  It was a heart breaking moment as I knew it would not come true.  I told her that Santa was working with Doctors and Scientists to make it go away, but I don't think it will be ready for a while.  I asked her to please rewrite the letter to Santa.  She said she wouldn't rewrite it, but that she would add a few more things to it.  She said she still wanted a cure and wanted Santa to know.  Of course on Christmas morning she got the puppy robot she wrote on the Christmas list, and she like it.  As the presents came to an end and the stocking had been emptied, she looked at me and said maybe next year.
