A little bit of everything

  • Hello!
I know I haven't been here in a long time. My life changed a lot in all aspects. I could said I'm able to take care of myself doing what I like for the first time ever, and put everything else on the side.
Long story short, I'm getting divorced bc I'm not in love anymore, Adrian is giving me a hard time with his T1D and school, he lies about everything and he is seeing a Psychiatrist now, my little one is crying for his dad every time he sees him, and I'm trying to keep my exercises to avoid getting to deep into any problem.
I'm so tired of dealing w/ all of the above! I'm overwhelmed with T1D. Adrian is giving me a hard time and it goes worst every day. He is 13 now and maybe it's the age. I'm not giving up, but, (sorry if this sound horrible), he will learn on his own when he will have to deal w/ something bad. So far he has been lucky. It's a lie about everything and anything, school is going down and again, I could care less. If he has to do 7 grade again, his problem, not mine. Of course one thing (his absolutely no control of bs) affects the other. But no excuses. He has options and I guess will learn on his own some day. That's the reason we are seeing the psychiatrist as I'm out of tools. My ex doesn't seem to realize we are getting divorced and doesn't stop blaming me of what is happening bc I could avoid it if he was there (He never ever was involved before on anything). He said our kids are suffering bc I took the decision of leaving him. I should be so selfish and I should think on my kids first. And my little one, which is 6 now, has never been closed to his dad but NOW he cries for him every time he sees him. Keep in mind he is very sensitive and cries for everything. Yesterday was my let down and couldn't stop crying.
This are things I can't post on FB. Thanks for listening.

  • I'm so sorry Janette.  13 is a rough age and the divorce will escalate whatever rebellion was there before. You are strong though and I know you can do this and guide Adrian through this. Hugs to you my friend. <hug>

  • Oh Janette.  My heart goes out to you.  I left my husband when my kids were 10-13 years old. It is a tough age anyway, and then to throw in a divorce and Type 1 too, it's tough.   I'm glad you guys are seeing a psychiatrist.  We did that with my oldest daughter in particular, but we also had some family sessions, with and without my ex.  It Definately helped us.

Hang in there.   Stay strong. You can do this.  <hug>  <hug>
