Scary call

  • I got a call this morning from Cole's girl friend. She had called Cole on her way to work.  She said he sounded "off" and when she asked him to test he said noooo. So she called the office of the apartment complex he lives and works at.  His coworker answered the phone, grabbed the master keys and went to his apt. He was altered but not passed out. She called 911 then gave him two juice boxes. I called his number and his coworker answered. I listened as they tried to test blood sugar, attempted to get him to eat or drink and heard theparamedics arrive.  After two juice boxes and some candy he tested at 43. A sandwich and soda and he made it to 63. It was a terrible horrible no good very bad day.
Don't want to post all on FB cause general population doesn't totally get it, and lots of T1d groups aren't as real about things as this group.  I get wanting to stay positive and honestly I'm not trying to be dramatic, or scare anyone... but I miss having a group that accepts and relates with care, intelligence and humor.  Anyway, miss you all especially on days like this!
    Hugs and merry Christmas!

  • Ugh!  Thank goodness for a good girlfriend!  Wonder if she doesn't want to move in with him...    :P

Sigh.  I hate the thought of them living alone.

  • Hugs and scary...

I don't ever want Kristen to live alone...not sure how she will eventually feel about this.  Lows do scare her though.

  •  <hug> I miss this group, too. My mama-heart races just to hear your scary story. Thank God for his girlfriend... the coworker with keys... all the things that fell into place to make sure he ended up okay!
