Jada-Grace - 4 yrs old - Just started HeadStart - Favorite saying "You not the boss of me!" (to her big brothers & sisters) Thank God, she isn't really "into" anything yet! I don't know what I would do! lol

Julie, 32... Still work for the same company, but we can now add "Sr. Adjuster" to that title.
Husband is still the same.... I havent beat him or killed him yet.  ;D He still has his taxidermy and has now retired from the police dept (Thank Heavens)

    Children -
Alyssa - 14 (almost 15) - dx'd Type 1 at age 7 still pumping with MM & thyroid is under control with meds- Still a cheerleader and active in school and church. Girl Scouts has faded out of her life because she is "too grown up" for that now!  ::) She is starting High School in the fall.
Ryan - 10 (almost 11) - plays football and basketball. Loves to hunt, fish, ride fourwheelers and play paintball. Was recently dx'd with a reading disability and will be in SpEd classes for reading in the fall. Outside of his Reading class in school, Ryan loves Science and Math and maintains A's in both.
Maison - Just turned 9 - does every thing his older brother does! lol Maison has ADHD and with his medication has maintained a 4.0GPA
Jada - 6 (almost 7) - wants to do everything Alyssa does. She is also a cheerleader now. Jada has ADHD with ODD, she sees a speech therapist and a language specialist for a reading disability.

And another two years has passed!! I will keep this one short!!

Julie 35 (you do the math) - I am still me! Snarky & Straight-laced as ever. I am with the same company and now hold the title Property Claims Manager. I am the youngest Exec in the company! Lucky Me!
Still married to my husband Lendall, who is still a taxidermist.

Alyssa - 17 and a Junior in high school. Color guard is now the biggest consumer of her time.

Other than that pretty much a the same .
    Julie ~  Mom to: Alyssa 19 (MM Pumper dx'd @ 7) & Non D: Ryan 15, Maison 13, & Jada 11 - SOUTH LOUISIANA

  • Amber mom of 2.
Breanna d.ob. August 31st 2007, diagnosed August 20th 2012. Currently on injections, starting on the t:slim may 8th!
    Orion d.o.b. march 29 2011, not diabetic.

I am a veterinary technician working in upstate Ny. Before diabetes we were working on self sufficiency by growing our own food and making everything from scratch including home remidies... seems ironic we now have a child dependant on the opposite, guess we are just ment to be here :)
I am an animal nurse, mom of Breanna, age 5 diagnosed 8/20/12-pumping with t:slim, and Orion,2.

  • Hi there! I'm Sarah from Tacoma, WA USA totally new to the group as of today & pretty new to parenting a T1D child! I have four children & one grandchild plus I work full time & am a single parent!

    Mother to:
    Phaedra, 18
    Phoebe, 14
    Phoenix, 9
    Phinnegan, 8 diagnosed January 18, 2015

Gamma to Jackson, 6 months old!

We have a full house that just got a little more stressful with this diagnosis! T1 diabetics are not new to our family at all, I have 5 nieces & nephews that were all diagnosed as we are a bit ahead of the game as far as knowledge goes. But, working it all out for ourselves is proving tricky. Phin already does his own BS checks & his own shots....he's quite hands-on & wants to be a doctor one day! The staff at the hospital during our stay were amazed with his plethora of knowledge & how well he was doing with his diagnosis!

I'm here to learn from those of you who have gone before me & to have an outlet for venting!! I know we have a life-long journey of ups & downs I thought I should find others who know what I'm dealing with! <hug>
