  • Figures, Mindy...you're a teacher, too! You all should be happy that I read a book. Its been over 6 months since I've read one.

But I am a Math teacher so I am very satisfied with all you do crunching #'s and counting carbs.  I am with Bern, though, funniest thing I've read today.  I was cracking up.  I still am.  I will give you applause, too, just for reading again.  We are very proud of you dear Lorri.  ;)

Same here!! I couldn't justify spending twenty for a book that looked boring!!! Figured my kids could eat dinner two nights for the price of that book!

  • That was funny, Leslie!!  But it did give me a thought - is there a "Book Club Suggestion Box" somewhere on here?  That way people can post ideas and vote on them for upcoming months.  I didn't join this one because I'm in major stress right now, but I'd like to do a future one.

  • Considering my book arrived Monday afternoon and I'm right at 1/2 way finished, I think I've done well. I'm happy the discussion will wait until the 10th though. I don't believe I could finish before next weekend with the week my calendar is showing.

I am enjoying the book though. It really hasn't been a slow read for me. Some of you had me nervous! However, I've been known to read books I really didn't care for just to have something to read.

  • I said to my all male family who were wrestling and making explosion noises "I need a book club!".  Seriously, that was a couple of hours ago and I didn't know this was here.  I won't get this book read in time (I have 4 on the go and need to finish something up first) but I want to be part of this next time around.  Have you decided what you're reading next?  I'll check back to see what the plan is but I'm about to start 'Saving Fish from Drowning' by Amy Tan if anyone wants to join me  :)

And this is definitely one of the funniest lines EVER!!

Why are you posting in book club then, you should post under the topic I READ MY OWN BOOK TODAY ANYONE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT!

  • I'll post too. I never read Grisham, and after reading that one I probably never will again. It was really predictable. Of course, I could not have written it, but I wasn't surprised by it.
